Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Ballydine is seeking a Project Engineer to support lifecycle project delivery across life science clients. You will coordinate activities with the Associate Director, Project Managers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and budget-compliant outcomes.

You will contribute to contractor management processes, documentation, and a range of project support tasks, ensuring high standards of health, safety and quality across site operations.

Qualifications

  • Leaving Cert education or above is required.
  • Recognised technical qualification in Construction, Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent is desirable.
  • IOSH Managing Safely in Construction is desirable but not required.
  • Project Supervisor Construction Stage is desirable but not required.
  • Project Supervisor Design Stage is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination and delivery of multiple projects across the site.
  • Monitor schedules, actions and deliverables for successful execution.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports and status updates.
  • Assist with reviews, scope development, tender prep and contractor evaluations.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and other stakeholders.
  • Support project close-out, documentation and compliance reviews.
  • Raise requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, invoicing and financial reporting.
  • Maintain and update project financial trackers.
  • Assist with commercial review of contractor proposals and tender submissions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health & safety policies.

Job Description

Location: Ballydine, Co. Tipperary

Working Pattern: 100% site-based, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Ballydine. This is a key role within the project management function, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects across our life science clients Ballydine site.

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Associate Director of Projects, Project Managers, contractors, and stakeholders to coordinate project activities, monitor progress, maintain compliance, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.

The role also supports contractor management activities and acts as a key point of coordination for multidisciplinary projects across the site.

  • Experience supporting engineering, construction, facilities, or capital projects.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Understanding of contractor management and health & safety processes.
  • Experience managing project documentation and financial administration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.

What You'll Do

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple projects across the site.

  • Assist with project reviews, scope development, tender preparation, and contractor evaluations.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and other project stakeholders.

  • Support project budgeting, cost tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (QHSE)

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with site, client, and company health and safety policies.
  • Conduct safety audits, permit reviews, and contractor safety inspections.
  • Manage QHSE reporting, including hazards, audits, permits, and contractor performance reviews.
  • Support contractor management processes in line with site procedures.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate contractor activities and site access requirements.
  • Support permit-to-work processes and contractor safety compliance.
  • Participate in project meetings, site walkdowns, and contractor reviews.
  • Act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Resolve coordination issues and elevate risks where required.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain project records and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Support change control processes, equipment certification requirements, and project handover activities.
  • Review contractor documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, permits, and test packs.
  • Ensure contractor pre-qualification and compliance requirements are completed before mobilisation.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to drive effective project delivery and best practices.
  • Support training coordination and maintain project training matrices.
  • Contribute to team meetings, business updates, and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with mobilisation activities and new project opportunities as required.
