Job summary

GEDON seeks a senior commercial and project controls professional to lead cost, programme and risk management on high-value data centre and life sciences programmes. The role combines an Ireland base with European assignments, delivering integrated forecasting, value reconciliations and robust reporting to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management and project controls across high-value data centre or life sciences programmes.
• Establish and maintain cost, programme and risk baselines, integrating them into a single view of project performance.
• Prepare cost value reconciliations, forecasts, cash flow projections and monthly reporting to senior leadership.
• Oversee earned value analysis, performance measurement and variance reporting, identifying trends and corrective actions.
• Manage change control, variations and early warnings, protecting the contractor’s commercial position.
• Administer subcontracts, including procurement, valuations and final account negotiation.
• Lead risk and opportunity management, maintaining risk registers and quantified contingency.
• Work closely with planning, engineering and site teams to align commercial strategy with delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement in commercial and controls processes, systems and reporting standards.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

You will join a well-resourced project team delivering large-scale, fast-track data centre or life sciences facilities, typically involving significant MEP content, complex interfaces and demanding programmes. These are high-value projects where accurate forecasting, robust cost control and clear reporting directly shape commercial outcomes.

Working closely with the Project Director, commercial leadership and the wider delivery team, you will bring together cost, programme and risk into a single, reliable view of project performance. The culture is collaborative and data-driven, with strong systems, clear governance and senior leaders who value commercial insight.

The role combines an Ireland base with assignments across the group’s European projects, supported by a dedicated assignment package. It offers an ideal platform to broaden your international experience on landmark facilities, while taking real ownership of commercial and controls outcomes from pre-construction through to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOU NEED

• Strong contractor-side commercial management or senior QS experience on large, technically complex projects
• Demonstrable project controls expertise, including cost control, forecasting, earned value and integrated reporting
• Candidates strong in either commercial management or project controls, with solid exposure to the other, are encouraged to apply
• Experience within data centre, life sciences, pharmaceutical or other mission-critical sectors is highly beneficial but not essential
• A sound working knowledge of international forms of contract, including NEC and FIDIC
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline; MRICS or MSCSI chartership desirable
• Willingness to take on European project assignments from an Ireland base

WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURN

This role offers a base salary of €130,000 plus a European assignment package, typically covering travel, accommodation and assignment-related support, alongside pension and healthcare.
