Programme Executive – Building Energy Performance Methodologies

- My client in the energy and sustainability sector has an opportunity to join a team at the forefront of building energy standards, calculation methodologies and policy implementation
- You will be developing, maintaining and improving the frameworks used to assess the energy performance of residential and commercial buildings across Ireland.
- Work with technical experts, government stakeholders and industry representatives to support the evolution of building energy modelling methodologies and regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of building energy performance calculation methodologies for domestic and non domestic buildings.
- Analyse technical proposals and provide recommendations relating to building energy standards and methodology changes.
- Develop and maintain calculation tools and models, including Excel based solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications, guidance documents, worked examples and testing scenarios.
- Carry out quality assurance, impact assessments and sensitivity analysis of proposed methodology updates.
- Contribute to technical working groups, stakeholder consultations and programme delivery activities.
You will have:
- A degree in Architecture, Mech Eng, Civil Eng, Building Services, Env. Science, Sustainability, Economics or a related discipline.
- At least 3 yrs' experience in building energy modelling, building performance analysis, building certification or sustainability consulting.
- Strong knowledge of building energy assessment methodologies and standards.
- Experience working with DEAP, NEAP or similar energy modelling frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non tech audiences.
- Non Domestic BER Assessor certification.
- Knowledge of building energy systems and services.
- Experience using EnergyPlus, DesignBuilder, IES or similar modelling software.
Location:
Hybrid working (2 days on site) in one of 4 locations in Ireland
