Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association in Kilkenny invites applications for a 20 hour per week permanent Programme Assistant role within Supported Living Kilkenny. You will transport members safely and provide personal and activity-based support to promote independence and dignity in the community.

The position requires QQI Level 5 Care Support and a category B driving licence; a D licence is a plus. You will work closely with staff, families, and volunteers to safeguard residents and enable participation.

Qualifications

• Full QQI Level 5 (Major Award) Care Support or similar qualification is essential.
• Covers Health Service Skills and Safety at Work components as relevant.
• Category B Driving Licence is required; D licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support members to maximise potential using a person-centred approach.
• Assist with personal care and daily living as identified by members.
• Support participation in social activities and independent living skills.
• Act as key worker and advocate for members and maintain residence upkeep.
• Work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, overnights.
