CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Production Supervisor (Evening Shift) for our Galway-based client. You will lead a team of Team Leads and Product Builders to achieve Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and People objectives within a GMP environment.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with a focus on continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, and Health & Safety across the shift.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a production or manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong people management experience including coaching and performance management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Team Leads and Product Builders/General Operatives to meet Quality, Cost, Delivery, Supply, Safety, and People goals.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance and drive safety across the shift.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees; monitor performance and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Develop training plans to maximise cross-training and operational flexibility without compromising quality or productivity.
  • Maintain OTIF production and adherence to the production schedule within budget.
  • Foster open communication and regular team engagement on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to eliminate waste and improve performance.
  • Lead Kaizen events and Lean initiatives to sustain continuous improvement.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve targets.

Job description

A Production Supervisor (Evening Shift) is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Galway based client. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a Team of Team Leads and Product Builders/General Operatives to achieve operational objectives in the areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Supply, Safety, and People. The role requires Strong Leadership, Communication, and Organisational skills, together with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes. The Production Supervisor drives Health & Safety, Quality, Lean Manufacturing, Productivity, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across their shift.

  • HOURS OF WORK: Mon - Wed 4:30pm to 2:30am & Thursday 4:30pm to 1:30am.
THE ROLE:
  • Ensure compliance with all company Health and Safety policies and procedures and take responsibility for all health and safety matters within the assigned shift.
  • Ensure that product is manufactured to the Quality standards required by our customers through compliance and GMP
  • Ensure employees are appropriately trained, competent in their roles, and that all training activities are accurately documented and maintained.
  • Develop and implement training programmes that maximise cross-training, workforce flexibility, and operational capability while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Ensure production volume requirements are achieved On Time in Full (OTIF), within budget, and in accordance with the required production schedule mix.
  • Effectively manage employee performance through coaching, mentoring, development, performance monitoring, and the implementation of appropriate performance management actions where necessary.
  • Encourage open, two-way communication regarding individual, team, and company objectives through regular team meetings and daily engagement on the production floor.
  • Develop operational plans in collaboration with the Production manager to ensure alignment with site objectives and the overall Operations strategy.
  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives and drive cross-functional collaboration between Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
  • Promote and sustain a culture of continuous improvement that supports the Quality Policy, Quality Management System, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain visual management systems to support operational performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and actively participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years’ experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong people management experience, including coaching, employee development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, engage, and develop employees while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships across Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other support functions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven track record of delivering results through effective leadership in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and operational performance.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple competing demands.
  • High level of attention to detail, problem-solving capability, and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong team-working skills with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
