Job summary

Production Equipment Europe is seeking a Purchasing Administrator to join our busy Purchasing Team in Galway. You will coordinate communication between the Purchasing Department and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring orders are processed on time and inventory is managed efficiently.

Ideal candidates have procurement exposure, strong admin skills, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in purchasing/logistics
• Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or business preferable
• Strong organisational and administration skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Good computer skills (MS Office), SAP or other ERP experience desirable
• Flexible and pro-active attitude
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Ensure purchase orders are processed and expedited within required time frames
• Confirm orders and route relevant information to the correct team
• Ensure timely follow up on open and overdue purchase orders
• Manage and reduce excess inventory levels
• Review returns and damaged goods
• Work to agreed time scales and deadlines
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors
• Monitor the supply performance of vendors
• Participate in ad hoc projects from a Purchasing perspective
