Job summary

Hero Recruitment Group in Galway is seeking a Technician to support advanced manufacturing lines for life-saving medical devices. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with a close-knit team to resolve complex issues.

• Experience troubleshooting electrical or mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, and escalate to Engineering or Maintenance when needed.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to investigate scrap and yield issues.
• Work as part of a team of technicians across multiple processes.
• Understand pneumatics and system utilities.
• Record maintenance activities in internal systems; use PowerPoint for yield updates; handovers via Teams and Excel.
• Utilize SQL databases (training provided) to interact with equipment data and optimize performance.
• Commit to safety and quality standards.

Job description

The core hours for weekend shift are 06:30 to 18:30 Saturday and Sunday.

The contract is for 39 hr a week. The balance of time for weekend shift is to be made up of a 06:30 to 18:30 shift every week plus a 2nd 06:30 to 18:30 shift once every 4 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Support: Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, and elevate complex problems to Engineering or Maintenance teams when necessary.
• Yield Management: Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to investigate and resolve scrap and yield issues related to equipment and processes.
• Process Improvement: Experience with Process Improvement.Team Collaboration: Work as part of a close‑knit team of approximately six Technicians and Production Core Teams across 3–4 key processes.
• Knowledge of Pneumatics
• System Utilisation: Record maintenance activities in internal systems, use PowerPoint for yield updates, and manage handovers via Teams and Excel.
• Database Interaction: Utilise SQL databases (training provided) to interact with equipment data and optimise performance.
• Commitment to Safety and Quality: Execute all tasks with the highest regard for safety standards and quality protocols.
