Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment, yield, and process issues; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to develop, troubleshoot and improve production methods.
• Handle electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming and interfacing with hardware.
• Maintain critical spares inventory to minimise downtime.
• Assist ME's in investigations, new production methods, and documentation.
• Perform equipment qualifications and validations and prepare reports.
• Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment changes.
• Interface with BSIL personnel and external vendors as needed.
• Follow preventive maintenance procedures for assigned processes and ensure safety concerns are communicated to management.

Job description

I ma hiring 4 x Process technicians for a leading medical device company in Galway. The positions will be for evening, night and weekend shift work.

Introduction:

The current job openings are for the Stent Delivery Catheter Production Unit. The production unit makes Drug Eluting Stent delivery system for treating cardiovascular disease caused by narrowed or blocked arteries around the heart. The catheters are used to deliver and deploy the stents to the heart. The products made at the Stent Delivery Catheter Production unit include Synergy, Premier and Wolverine.

Job Purpose:

• Part of core team to respond to equipment, yield and process related issues, implement corrective and preventative actions to eliminate repeat instances.

Within this role you will:

• Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing, troubleshooting, standardising and improving existing production methods and procedures.
• Work on electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming, electronic hardware interfacing.
• Maintain a critical spares inventory for key maintenance items to minimise downtime.
• Assist ME's in investigating and implementing new production methods.
• Assist ME's in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.
• Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including report writing etc.
• Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.
• Interface with a variety of BSIL personnel and with outside vendors when necessary while performing the above.
• Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.
• Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their Manager.

What we need from you:

• HETAC Level 6 qualification in a relevant area with a minimum of two years relevant experience.
• Medical Device Manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
• Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
• Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own with minimum supervision.
