Job summary
Fidelity Investments in Ireland is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership within a product delivery team responsible for design, development, delivery, and support of business-critical applications. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in a technology-related discipline.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Proven experience leading delivery of complex software solutions at scale.
- Experience acting as a technical lead for teams.
- Ability to influence decisions across engineers, product, architecture, and business stakeholders.
- Experience balancing feature delivery, debt reduction, and platform improvements.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to engineers across the delivery team.
- Drive engineering decisions aligned with architectural direction.
- Collaborate with Architects to evaluate options and strategy.
- Identify and manage technical, delivery, and operational risks.
- Establish engineering standards and quality expectations.
- Lead production issue resolution and root cause analysis.
- Champion secure software development, testing, observability, and performance.
