Job summary

Croom Medical is hiring a CNC Operator to join the Operations team. You will set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines to manufacture precision orthopaedic implant components to tight tolerances, collaborating closely with Quality, Engineering and Production teams.

We require at least 2 years of CNC experience, the ability to read engineering drawings (GD&T) and to use precision measurement tools. You will follow ISO 13485 practices and contribute to a safe, quality-driven shop floor.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC turning/milling in a precision engineering or medical device environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Competent with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, height gauges).
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and traceability.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC turning and/or milling machines per approved programs and work instructions.
  • Load raw material and select tooling, fixtures, and work-holding for each job.
  • Monitor cycles and perform offset adjustments to maintain tolerances; perform in-process inspection.
  • Complete batch records, inspection sheets, and traceability documentation in real time; report non-conformances.
  • Support root cause investigation and corrective actions for quality issues on the shop floor.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 quality management system requirements.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area; follow 5S and EHS procedures.
  • Participate in cross-skilling across additional machines or processes.
