Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Ireland is seeking a CNC operator to read blueprints and load parts, supervise machine operations, and adjust for quality results. You will inspect finished products, maintain machinery, and support continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to Health & Safety standards.

The role requires proven CNC experience, ability to read drawings, basic computer skills, and strong math and communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as CNC operator.
  • Skilled in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skill.
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
  • Good communication skills & Teamwork.
  • Fluent English is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
  • Achieving competitive cycle times and production targets
  • Technical troubleshooting ' machine and process
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Keep supervisor and/or QC informed of any issues
  • Maintain a clean, uncluttered work area
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations
  • Other associated tasks as assigned by the CNC Supervisor
