Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Dublin is seeking a Platform Engineer to drive end-to-end remediation for Market Risk Technology, including vulnerability management, upgrades, vaulting and key rotation across MRT applications.

You will coordinate with software developers, DBAs, security, governance, vendors and senior management to deliver trackable closure plans, manage releases, testing, audits, and status reporting in a hybrid Dublin office.

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated stakeholder leadership and ability to influence across teams.
• Proven remediation governance experience: vulnerability management, audit readiness, risk tracking, deadlines.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Python, microservices, and cloud-ready architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end remediation efforts across MRT platforms, including vulnerability management, upgrades, password vaulting and key rotation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams from development to security and governance to convert issues into closure plans.
• Contribute hands-on to modernization, integration, automation, and production support, managing releases, blockers, testing, and audit evidence.
• Provide concise executive updates on risks, blockers and priorities.

About Your New Job as a Platform Engineer

• You will drive end-to-end remediation efforts including vulnerability management, technology upgrades, password vaulting, key rotation, and platform improvements across critical Market Risk applications.
• Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams, from software development and database admin to security, governance, vendors, and senior management - to convert remediation issues into accountable, trackable closure plans.
• Contribute hands-on to modernisation, integration, automation, and production support for MRT platforms, while managing release plans, blockers, testing, audit evidence, and status reporting.
• Challenge existing approaches, validate technical solutions, and provide concise executive updates on risks, blockers, and priority decisions.

What Skills You Need in this job as a Platform Engineer

• Demonstrated stakeholder leadership and the ability to influence without authority.
• Proven track record in remediation program governance such as vulnerability management, compliance closure, audit readiness, risk tracking, and deadline-driven project delivery.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Python (Flask, FastAPI, Django), microservices, application modernisation, cloud-ready architectures, and React Web UIs.
• Practical expertise with DB2, SQL Server, SQL tuning, Linux/Unix environments, Apache, Tomcat, Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with regulated Market Risk technology, platform upgrades (CloudRack, Sailfish, Quartz), and AI-assisted software engineering is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage complex technical programs and contribute directly to development work across multiple platforms.
