Job summary

RECRUITERS is currently recruiting a Full Stack Java Engineer to join a major global technology organisation in Dublin on an initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension. The role covers both backend and frontend development, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud-native architectures.

You will work across the full SDLC, design and implement scalable services, collaborate with distributed teams, and contribute to reliability and security while exploring AI-assisted development

Qualifications

• 4+ years' commercial software engineering experience.
• Full stack experience across frontend and backend.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop modern frontend applications using React.
• Work with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Design and consume REST APIs.
• Work with relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Write complex SQL and contribute to database design.
• Work with Kafka and distributed messaging.
• Contribute to cloud-based application development and deployments.
• Take ownership of features from design through development, testing, release and production support.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement remediation.
• Develop automated unit, integration and performance testing.
• Participate in code, design and security reviews.
• Contribute to technical standards, architecture decisions and continuous improvement.
• Use AI-assisted development and automation tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Mentor and support other engineers where required.

I’m currently recruiting for a Full Stack Java Engineer to join a major global technology organisation in Dublin on an initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension.

This is a strong opportunity for a Full Stack Java Engineer who enjoys working across both backend and frontend technologies and wants to work on highly scalable, business-critical platforms.

The Role:

You’ll be involved across the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and development through to testing, deployment and production support.

The environment combines established applications with modern microservices and cloud-native architectures, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, security and continuous improvement.

You’ll work closely with engineers, architects and distributed teams to deliver new functionality while also improving existing platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing:

What We’re Looking For:

• Around 4+ years' commercial software engineering experience
• Full Stack experience across both frontend and backend
• Strong knowledge of microservices
• Experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies
• Understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices
• Experience working across the full SDLC
• Financial services or other highly regulated environments
• Experience with production support and incident management
• Experience working with distributed/global engineering teams
• Experience with CI/CD and modern deployment practices
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools

Location: Dublin

Working Model: Hybrid, 3 days in the office

Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension

Start: ASAP

Travel: Not required
