Job summary

Gravity Construction Limited, Barntown, Co. Wexford, is seeking a Plant Mechanic for immediate start at their Barntown facility.

The role requires 2-3 years’ Plant Mechanic experience; a mechanic certification is preferred but not essential. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair and service plant machinery used in construction and related civils activities, read technical drawings, and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Plant Mechanic experience required.
• No minimum academic requirements; on-the-job training provided.
• Mechanic certification is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and service machinery and equipment used in plant hire, construction and civils activities.
• Ensure plant machinery operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers, and batching systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns.
• Lubricate machinery and replace worn parts; ensure components are in good condition.
• Identify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and diagnose problems accurately.
• Repair or replace faulty parts to restore full operational capacity promptly.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and inspections.
