Zinc Processors Limited t/a Shannonside Galvanising, based in Drombanna, Co. Limerick, is seeking a Plant Mechanic for immediate start at two facilities in Co. Limerick.

Requires 2–3 years of Plant Mechanic experience; certification preferred but not essential. On‑the‑job training will be provided. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing plant machinery, performing regular maintenance, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of proven Plant Mechanic experience is required.
• Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge is essential.
• Mechanic certification is a bonus but not mandatory.
• On‑the‑job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service plant machinery and equipment.
• Ensure plant machinery operates efficiently and safely to minimize downtime.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on machines (mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers, batching systems).
• Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns.
• Lubricate machinery and replace worn parts to keep equipment in good condition.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
• Repair or replace faulty parts to return machinery to full operation.
• Conduct scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
