Job summary

M and N Staff Agency Limited, based in Dublin, is seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic to maintain, repair and service plant machinery across construction and civils projects. The role requires 2–3 years of proven experience and a hands-on approach to diagnostics and repairs.

On‑site work in the Dublin area with a focus on safe operation, preventative maintenance and timely fault resolution. Mechanic certification is a bonus, with on‑the‑job training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of proven Plant Mechanic experience.
• Mechanic certification preferred but not essential.
• No minimum academic requirements; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Must read technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge with prompt fault diagnosis.
• Competent in applying health, safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and service machinery in plant hire and civils sectors.
• Ensure plant machinery operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Carry out regular maintenance checks on mixers, conveyors, pumps, crushers and batching systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and repair promptly.
• Repair or replace faulty parts to restore full operation quickly.
• Conduct scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, repair and inspection records.
