Job summary

Keelings is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Leinster, Ireland. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on high-speed, PLC-controlled plant and packaging equipment, while maintaining CMMS records and supporting continuous improvement.

The role requires strong fault-finding, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. On-site duties include shift flexibility and collaboration with suppliers on new equipment

Qualifications

• Possess electrical maintenance experience and/or qualifications.
• Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health, and Safety
• Be familiar with planned preventative maintenance
• Experienced in fault finding and problem solving
• Comprehensive Knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC control systems

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality maintenance service to production, ensuring maintenance works efficiently, safely and in line with the maintenance strategy.
• Execute preventive maintenance & Condition Based program.
• Provide maintenance support, enter data, update equipment records, produce performance reports & participate in continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot electrical & mechanical issues.
• Perform electro-mechanical repairs on PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, including pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
• Support plant facilities and services, including compressed air, refrigeration & steam.
• Perform PM routines/Regular Maintenance.
• Monitor line and machine performance and intervene when deterioration occurs.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers on new installations & modifications.
• Update CMMS with changes and recorded work.
• Troubleshoot using PLC programs.
• Complete planned work and input daily shifts onto CMMS; manage stores and breakdowns.
• Adhere to callout rota as per policy.
• A suitable qualification in electrical, fitter or instrumentation engineering is advantageous.
• Strong fault finding / problem solving skills are essential.
• Good reporting skills are essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead maintenance issues and work independently or in a team.
• Flexible with shift changes and maintenance procedures.
