Job summary

GxP Recruitment is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to serve as the essential link between Maintenance, Engineering, Operations and Quality in a regulated manufacturing environment.

You will plan preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance, build weekly schedules, review work requests, and coordinate resources across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and other disciplines while ensuring safety and compliance. Experience with CMMS is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience planning, scheduling or coordinating maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • 2-5+ years in regulated industries such as pharma/biopharma/medical devices or food.
  • Strong CMMS experience (IBM Maximo, SAP or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Review work requests, assess priority and develop job plans.
  • Build weekly/daily maintenance schedules aligned to production needs.
  • Coordinate maintenance around manufacturing schedules to minimise disruption.
  • Plan activities weeks in advance when possible.
  • Allocate technicians across disciplines and identify required resources.
  • Ensure permits, isolations and safety requirements are prepared before work.
  • Coordinate annual shutdowns and major maintenance campaigns.

Job description

The Planner/Scheduler acts as the key link between Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Stores, Procurement and external contractors.

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Plan and schedule preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Review incoming work requests, assess priority and develop appropriate job plans.
  • Build weekly and daily maintenance schedules based on business and production priorities.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities around manufacturing schedules to minimise production disruption.
  • Plan maintenance activities several weeks in advance where possible.
  • Coordinate technician/craft allocation across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and other disciplines.
  • Identify required manpower, estimated labour hours, tools, materials and specialist resources.
  • Ensure all required permits, isolations and safety requirements are identified before work execution.
  • Coordinate annual shutdowns and major maintenance campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling or coordination within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-5+ Previous experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical-device, food or another regulated industry.
  • Strong experience using a CMMS such as IBM Maximo, SAP, CMMS or equivalent.
