Job summary

ArraTipp in Nenagh, Co. Tippe­rary, seeks a Maintenance Planner to oversee the maintenance and engineering function, coordinate external contractors, and drive site efficiency.

Responsibilities include managing operational maintenance, responding to breakdowns, coordinating CMMS activities, and ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards at the Nenagh site.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing a maintenance or engineering function.
  • A third-level qualification in engineering (process, mechanical, electrical, or a related discipline).
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance activities in accordance with site SOPs.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and initiate corrective maintenance actions.
  • Manage third-party vendors and contractors under Facilities Services agreements.
  • Coordinate contractor activities, permits, method statements, risk assessments, and site visits.
  • Schedule daily unplanned site maintenance activities.
  • Schedule routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
  • Ensure all work meets GMP requirements and site health and safety policies.

Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Location: Nenagh, Co. Tipperary

Job Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Maintenance and Engineering function, including external contractors, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the manufacturing facility

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide support for all operational and maintenance activities across the site, driving ongoing process improvements
  • Carry out maintenance activities in accordance with site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and initiate corrective maintenance actions, ensuring appropriate follow-up work is completed
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of site utilities systems
  • Manage third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring services are delivered effectively under Facilities Services agreements
  • Coordinate contractor activities, including permits, method statements, risk assessments, and scheduling of site visits
  • Schedule daily unplanned site maintenance activities.
  • Manage and Implement a CMMS system on site to track preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Schedule routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and systems, maintaining accurate records within the CMMS
  • Complete all maintenance-related documentation in line with site requirements
  • Ensure all company assets are maintained according to manufacturer specifications
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including fire alarm and ATEX systems
  • Oversee calibration activities and ensure compliance with audit and certification requirements
  • Adhere strictly to all site health and safety policies
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, GMP requirements, and housekeeping expectations
Qualifications required for this role:
  • Demonstrated experience managing a maintenance or engineering function
  • A third-level qualification in engineering (process, mechanical, electrical, or a related discipline)
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' relevant experience

  • Proficiency in IT systems

  • Experience in the food or dairy manufacturing industry is an advantage
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems
  • Knowledge of utilities systems
  • Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
