Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is hiring a Piping Operator in Cork within a well-established manufacturing business focusing on precision air conditioning equipment. You will join the Piping Production Team, supporting fabrication and assembly of copper pipework used in HVAC units.

You will read technical drawings, braze and weld copper piping, and ensure leak-free joints while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in piping, pipe fitting, welding, brazing or fabrication in manufacturing/HVAC.
• Good understanding of copper pipework and brazing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Confident using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail with high-quality workmanship.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong safety-first approach and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating, laying out and assembling copper piping systems in line with manufacturing specifications.
• Carrying out brazing of copper pipework to a high standard, ensuring leak-free joints.
• Performing welding, fabrication and pipe-fitting tasks as required during the unit build process.
• Inspecting, examining and pressure-testing pipe assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
• Reading and working from technical drawings while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to support efficient manufacturing operations.

About Your New Job

As a Piping Operator, you will work as part of the Piping Production Team, supporting the fabrication and assembly of copper pipework used within precision air conditioning units.

You will be responsible for:

• Fabricating, laying out and assembling copper piping systems in line with manufacturing specifications.
• Carrying out brazing of copper pipework to a high standard, ensuring strong and leak-free joints.
• Performing welding, fabrication and pipe-fitting tasks as required during the unit build process.
• Inspecting, examining and pressure-testing pipe assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
• Reading and working from technical drawings while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What Skills You Need

• Previous experience in piping, pipe fitting, welding, brazing or fabrication, ideally within manufacturing, HVAC or a similar environment.
• Good understanding of copper pipework and brazing techniques.

Relevant backgrounds may include: Piping Operator, Pipe Fitter, HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Technician, Fabricator, Welder, Mechanical Fitter or similar.
