Job summary

Rockwell are currently recruiting experienced Pipefitters to join exciting an mechanical engineering project in the Cork region, on a full-time basis.

The role involves reading and interpreting drawings, planning installation sequences, measuring, cutting, bending and mounting pipework, welding supports, testing systems for leaks, and working both indoors and outdoors on site. You will ensure safety compliance and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role within a mechanical contracting environment.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-functional team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
  • Own transport is also a necessity for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings to select pipe sizes and equipment.
  • Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructions and coordinate with others on site.
  • Measure, cut, and fit pipe using hand tools and cutting gear.
  • Bend pipe by hand or with bending tools/machines.
  • Mount pipe hangers/brackets and secure pipe to structures.
  • Weld pipe supports to steel members and test piping systems for leaks.
  • Load, transport, and maintain tools and materials.
  • Work both inside and outside.

Rockwell are currently recruiting experienced Pipefitters to join exciting an mechanical engineering project in the Cork region, on a full-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reading and interpreting drawings to select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
  • Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures and inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions.
  • Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
  • Proficient in all pipefitting tasks including –
  • Measuring and Cutting pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine to accurate dimensions
  • Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machine.
  • Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to secure pipe.
  • Assembly and install of a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
  • Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
  • Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
  • Welds pipe supports to structural steel members.
  • Use of tools, including power tools, and equipment.
  • Loads, transports, and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintaining and checking of own small tools and equipment.
  • Work both inside and outside.
  • Performs other duties as required
