Job summary

Allcare Pharmacy in Tralee is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team for a 40-hour, five‑day week in a busy dispensary. The role covers dispensing under the Pharmacist, stock management, blister pack preparation, and processing claims.

Newly qualified technicians are welcome to apply, and experience with McLernons MPS is advantageous. The team currently includes the Managing Pharmacist, one support staff, and three technicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy dispensary is an advantage; newly qualified technicians are welcome to apply.
• IPU Pharmacy Technician course or Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies an advantage.
• Experience with McLernons MPS is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medicinal products under the supervision of the Pharmacist in a caring and professional manner.
• Control stock levels and order medicines as required by store needs.
• Prepare blister packs and process and track claims.
• Report to and support the Pharmacist in a busy dispensary.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join the team in our Allcare Pharmacy in Tralee. This is a 40-hour (5-day) permanent position with the store's opening hours operating between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed on Sunday. The team currently comprises a Managing Pharmacist, 1 Support, and 3 Technicians. This store has manageable items and services.

The responsibilities of the role

• Be accurate with excellent attention to detail.
• To prepare and dispense medicinal products under the supervision of the Pharmacist in a caring and professional manner.
• Controlling stock levels and ordering medicines as determined by store requirements.
• Preparation of blister packs and processing and tracking claims.
• Reporting to and supporting the Pharmacist in a busy dispensary.

Requirements

• Experience working in a busy dispensary is an advantage, but newly qualified technicians are welcome to apply.
• Experience with McLernons MPS (an advantage).
• IPU Pharmacy Technician course or Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies an advantage.
