Job summary

Merck is seeking an API Process Development Engineer to join our hybrid team in Ireland. You will contribute to new product introductions, support process development and scale-up, and collaborate with global R&D partners to ensure compliant delivery of projects.

Qualifications

A degree in Science, Engineering or a related discipline is required.
At least one year of post-graduation experience in pharmaceutical API manufacturing or related technical environment.
Experience with process modelling, data analytics or simulations is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving, initiative and collaborative skills.
Ability to influence and support improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

Contribute to new product introduction and technical transfer activities, including new technologies.
Work with a cross-functional team to meet project milestones and launch dates.
Support development plans across projects and collaborate with global R&D partners.
Evaluate raw materials, process fit, optimise API processes, and support scale-up.
Participate in campaign prep, safety/regulatory reviews, and deviation investigations.
