Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks an Associate Director of Bioprocess & Technical Engineering to drive facility-fit, process engineering, and technical readiness across the Dublin Biotech site and external partners.

You will lead complex tech transfers, build scalable manufacturing capability, and ensure robust, compliant processes across the drug substance network. You will shape engineering roadmaps, oversee design and transfer activities, and mentor engineers and scientists, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering in engineering, biological sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, or a closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, process development, or tech transfer.
• 5+ years direct experience in biologics drug substance manufacturing, process engineering, or tech transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership for facility integration and process capability expansion across Dublin and external partners.
• Lead technology transfer and process commercialization with robust process engineering and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate across Manufacturing Science and Technology, External Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Automation to set and enforce engineering standards.
