Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging, seeks a Key Account Manager to own and grow a portfolio of strategic pharmaceutical accounts within our paper-based secondary packaging business.

The successful candidate will manage 5 key accounts generating €20 million turnover, acting as the primary commercial relationship owner while driving retention, growth and cross-sell opportunities across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in Key Account Management or senior Sales role in B2B environments.
• Experience managing multi-million-euro account turnovers.
• Experience selling into the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Understanding of paper-based/secondary packaging products is an advantage.
• Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Account Ownership: Manage 5 key pharmaceutical accounts with €20 million turnover.
• Relationship Management: Build trusted relationships across procurement, quality, operations, and supply chain.
• Cross-Selling: Identify and convert opportunities to expand product/service offering within accounts.
• Forecasting: Produce accurate sales forecasts and demand plans for production and reporting.
• Negotiation: Lead pricing, terms, and SLAs with senior level stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Navigation: Engage key decision-makers across departments.
• Account Planning: Develop strategic plans with growth targets and risk mitigation.
• Compliance & Quality: Align activity with pharma regulatory and quality standards.
• Internal Collaboration: Work with production, quality, customer service and finance.
• Reporting: Provide management updates on revenue, margin, pipeline and risk.
