Job summary

Réalta Technologies is seeking an Automation Engineer to support a pharmaceutical production facility in Cork. The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience with Foxboro DCS or similar systems and will handle PLC programming, HMI development and SCADA tasks.

Responsibilities include daily automation system support, monitoring and maintenance, resolving issues to minimize downtime, and updating designs and code with proper documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.
5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in pharma/biotech.
Experience with Foxboro DCS or other DCS (DeltaV, 800xA, PCS7).
Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development and SCADA systems.
Strong understanding of automation design, process control and instrumentation.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication when interpreting design documents and relating them to code.

Responsibilities

Provide daily support for automation systems within the Chemical API production facility.
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of automation systems through regular monitoring and maintenance.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to automation systems promptly to minimise production downtime.
Perform updates and modifications to automation system designs and code to improve functionality and efficiency.
Ensure all updates are thoroughly tested and documented.
Review design documentation to ensure automation code aligns with requirements.
Maintain accurate records of system changes and compliance with industry regulations.
