Job summary

Réalta Technologies in Cork is seeking an Automation Engineer to support a pharmaceutical production facility. The ideal candidate will bring 5 years of automation engineering experience with Foxboro or other DCS, preferably in Life Sciences.

Responsibilities include daily automation system support, system monitoring and maintenance, diagnosing issues, and implementing design/code updates with thorough testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, CS, or related field.
• 5 years of automation engineering experience, preferably in pharma/biotech.
• Experience with Foxboro DCS or other DCS (DeltaV, 800xA, PCS7).
• Proficient in PLC programming, HMI development and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of automation design principles, process control and instrumentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication, ability to interpret design documents and translate to code.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support for automation systems within the Chemical API production facility.
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of automation systems through regular monitoring and maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve automation system issues promptly to minimise downtime.
• Perform updates and modifications to automation system designs and code to improve functionality and efficiency.
• Ensure updates are thoroughly tested and documented.
• Review and understand design documentation to ensure automation code aligns with requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of system changes and ensure regulatory compliance.
