Job summary

SimoTech is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our embedded team at a large Cork campus, supporting a global pharmaceutical client on automation projects across production and utilities.

You will work with Foxboro I/A Series (or equivalent DCS), participate in commissioning and qualification, and contribute to design specifications in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life Sciences.
• 3–5 years’ hands-on Foxboro I/A Series (or similar DCS) experience.
• Working knowledge of control system testing methodologies.
• Understanding of basic P&ID and control narrative interpretation.
• Ability to work within a team under a Foxboro Lead Engineer.
• Pharmaceutical or other regulated industry experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting automation projects in a pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
• Configuration and testing of automated systems.
• Provide support with commissioning and qualification.
• Development of Functional and Detailed Design Specifications.
• Work with process, project and engineering to plan and deliver projects.
• Ensure projects schedule is in line with project timelines and KPIs.
