Job summary

Meath Intellectual Disability Services is seeking a dedicated Person in Charge (PIC) to lead residential services and ensure we deliver safe, person-centred care in line with HIQA standards and the Health Act 2007.

You will manage teams, support individuals to live with dignity and independence, and build strong partnerships with families and multidisciplinary colleagues while driving continuous improvement across our services.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of management experience in health or social care.
  • Nursing degree with NMBI registration or Level 8 in Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of residential services.
  • Drive safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA and Health Act 2007.
  • Inspire and develop staff teams to thrive.

Are you a passionate leader ready to make a real difference? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Person in Charge (PIC)to lead high-quality residential services supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.

This is more than just a management role — it’s an opportunity to shape lives. You’ll lead dedicated teams, oversee residential centres, and empower individuals to live with dignity, choice, and independence every day.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading the day-to-day operations of residential services in line with HIQA standards and the Health Act 2007
  • Driving the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care
  • Ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and organisational requirements
  • Inspiring, supporting, and developing staff teams to thrive
  • Building strong relationships with families, multidisciplinary teams, and key stakeholders
  • Championing best practice in care planning, risk management, and continuous improvement
What You Bring
  • Nursing Degree with NMBI registration (or eligibility) OR a Level 8 Degree in Social Care
  • At least 3 years’ management experience in health or social care
  • A recognised management qualification (minimum Level 6 NFQ)
  • Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, person-centred planning, and clinical governance
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland
