MCMA is seeking an experienced Person in Charge to lead residential disability services in Tipperary. The role focuses on safe, person-centred care, regulatory compliance, and staff development to achieve positive outcomes for service users and families.

You will drive service development, governance, and quality assurance, working with management to ensure alignment with HIQA standards and organisational policies. A driving licence and regional travel are required.

Qualifikationen

  • Relevant qualification in Health or Social Care Management/Leadership or willingness to undertake further training.
  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Humanities, Healthcare, Social Care or equivalent (e.g., Disability Studies, Psychology, Counselling Psychotherapy, Nursing).
  • At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience within healthcare or social care services.
  • Strong knowledge of HIQA regulations, safeguarding, and person-centred practice.
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel across the designated region.

Aufgaben

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across designated residential centres.

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of Person-Centred Plans.
  • Support teams in managing complex behaviours through Positive Behaviour Support and Low Arousal approaches.
  • Ensure effective safeguarding measures are in place to promote the wellbeing and rights of service users.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional support to management teams and staff.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, learning, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Lead employee relations processes, including performance management, grievance, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure effective induction, training, and professional development opportunities for all employees.
  • Facilitate critical incident debriefing and reflective practice sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and organisational requirements.
  • Oversee risk management processes, including the identification, assessment, mitigation, and escalation of risks.
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to accidents, incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure all hazards are effectively managed, documented, and reviewed.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, advocates, and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of contact for families and respond professionally to concerns and enquiries.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Person in Charge in Tipperary to lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality residential disability services within a designated region. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring safe, person-centred, and compliant service delivery while supporting and developing management teams to achieve positive outcomes for service users and their families.

The successful candidate will play a key role in service development, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring services operate in line with HIQA standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.

Our client is a specialist provider of residential and community-based services for young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Service Management

Operational Responsibilities
  • Participate in the on-call management rota.
  • Support the delivery of a 24-hour, 7-day service, including occasional evening, weekend, public holiday, and emergency cover as required.
  • Lead and participate in team meetings, handovers, professional forums, conferences, and organisational events.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by senior management.
Person Specification:
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Health or Social Care Management/ leadership OR a commitment to undertake further training is essential.
  • Minimum Level 7 in Humanities, Healthcare OR Social Care Equivalent e.g. Disability Studies/ Psychology/ Counselling Psychotherapy/ Special Needs Education / Nursing
  • Atleast 3 years of management/supervisory experience within healthcare or social care services.
  • Strong knowledge of HIQA regulations, National Standards, safeguarding, and person-centred practice.
  • Proven leadership, people management, and organisational skills.
  • Experience in behaviour support, risk management, and service development.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel across the designated region.
