Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering in Ireland seeks a Graduate EHS Advisor to provide Environment, Health and Safety guidance across projects. You will implement and maintain the Kirby management system, coordinate EHS activities, report to the Project Manager and support site teams on safety requirements.

This role may be posted on one project or across multiple sites, requires travel between projects and occasional overnight stays, and offers development through Kirby’s safety and leadership programmes.

Qualifications

• Relevant EHS qualification.
• Excellent communication skills, through presentations, reports, written and verbal.
• Ability to work with Kirby / client / main contractor Safety and Project teams.
• Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
• Up to date with Legislation, Standards, Guidance and Compliance.
• Proactive in identifying positive and negative acts, with realistic corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, instruction and training in all EHS matters to management, safety representatives and employees.
• Audit and inspect projects; prepare corrective and preventive action plans.
• Prepare and agree project-specific EHS Plan, induction and RAMS before work begins and maintain thereafter.
• Update EHS Plans, RAMS and related documents to stay compliant.
• Prepare Monthly KPI reports, site visit schedules, SEORs and KPIs; communicate findings.
• Visit new projects, set up safety files and ensure site establishment complies with regulations.
• Review contractor appointments and ensure use of competent contractors.
• Lead and implement measures for preventing incidents at work.
• Report incidents promptly and coordinate investigations with relevant parties.
• Attend EHS coordination meetings and internal/external site meetings as required.
• Promote incentives and maintain PPE and training records.
