Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or an electrical trade with training.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar electrical contracting role.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to multi-task.
• Experience with MV/HV systems and Authorised Person experience.
• Excellent communication and administration skills.
• Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Regulations and protection schemes.
• Experience with Safety, EHS and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Engages early with Site Management using Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
• Mentors testing & commissioning technicians per commissioning plan.
• Ensures compliance with Electrical Safe Systems of Work by site personnel.
• Issues and controls permits for Energised work.
• Attend daily testing and commissioning meetings.
• Review project specs and drawings to extract requirements.
• Follow operational procedures and High Voltage safety rules.
• Interpret electrical protection under fault conditions.
• Manage safety documents and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Review switchgear distribution topology and controls before start-up.
• Support testing contractors for commissioning sequences and test scripts.
• Liaise with control system providers (SCADA/BMS/EMS) for handover.
• Manage start-up and energization following the Safe Systems of Work.
• Witness tests and ensure documentation is complete.
• Ensure energisation testing tagging witnessed and signed off.
• Identify and ensure correct test equipment is available and calibrated.
