Job summary

Barden is expanding its Cork-based payroll team and seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to own a book of clients, running payroll end-to-end and serving as the primary contact for BIK, expenses, and bespoke queries.

You will collaborate with accounts and tax colleagues to support clients and help scale the Irish payroll offering, with cross-training to cover and a path to a new payroll platform next year.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Irish payroll in a client-facing role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish payroll compliance, including BIK and Revenue reporting.
• Experience across more than one payroll system is advantageous.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and building lasting relationships.
• Ambitious to grow the payroll offering over the long term.

Responsibilities

• Own your own book of clients, running payroll from start to finish.
• Be the trusted contact for clients on BIK, expenses and unusual queries.
• Help grow the Irish payroll offering, incl. larger clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues across accounts and tax to support clients.

• Participate in moving to a new payroll platform next year.

Barden is delighted to partner with a growing professional services firm in Cork as they look to hire an experienced Payroll Manager. This is a chance to own your own book of clients and help build an Irish payroll offering that the firm is keen to grow.

You will run payroll from start to finish for your clients, working closely with them and with a hands‑on team. As the offering expands, so will the scope of the role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Own your own book of clients, running payroll from start to finish.
• Be the trusted point of contact for clients on BIK, expenses, and unusual queries.
• Help grow the Irish payroll offering, including larger clients.
• Work closely with colleagues across accounts and tax to support clients.
• Cross‑train with the team to share knowledge and provide cover.
• Play a part in a move to a new payroll platform next year.

ABOUT THE PERSON

• A good few years of hands‑on Irish payroll experience.
• Experience running full client payrolls independently.
• Strong knowledge of Irish payroll compliance, including BIK and Revenue reporting.
• Experience across more than one payroll system is an advantage.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and building lasting relationships.
• Ambitious, with an interest in growing a payroll offering over the long term.

• Location: Cork, with hybrid working of two or three days at home.
