Job summary

Atlantic Projects Company in Limerick is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead all payroll systems and processes and to supervise the payroll team under the Senior Financial Controller. The role is full-time, based at our Limerick office, with standard hours 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will manage multi-frequency payrolls for Ireland and the UK, ensure compliance with payroll tax laws, and collaborate with HR, IT and Finance to develop an integrated payroll platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and processing of multi-frequency payrolls under critical deadlines.
  • Oversee all aspects of both weekly and monthly payrolls for Ireland and UK.
  • Coordinate bank files for employee pay as necessary.
  • Implement controls to verify accuracy and timeliness of payroll runs and related reporting.
  • Stay current on payroll tax laws and promote compliance within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT and Finance to implement and build out a fully integrated payroll platform.
  • Ensure timely and accurate information is reported to stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor payroll staff.
  • Manage the staff and craft timekeeping process.
  • Collaborate with HR on Pension, Life Assurance and Health Benefits changes.
  • Calculate redundancy calculations as necessary.
  • Administer payments of employee expenses for Ireland and related reporting.
  • Ensure reporting for Revenue & HMRC commitments including monthly payroll deductions and year-end processing.
  • Coordinate with accounting on payroll item recording and reconciliation.
  • Produce and analyse information to support audit purposes.
  • Periodic project site visits to support payroll initiatives.

Overview

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join the APC team! This is a full-time role, based at our office in Limerick. The core working hours are 8:00am-5:00pm (including a 1-hour break), Monday to Friday.

Position Summary

The Payroll Manager is responsible for all payroll systems and processes and have supervisory responsibility. In this role, you will be working with other members of the Finance team and will be reporting to the Senior Financial Controller.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation and processing of multi-frequency payrolls under critical deadlines.
  • Oversee all aspects of both weekly and monthly payrolls for Ireland and UK.
  • Coordinate bank files for employee pay as necessary.
  • Implement appropriate controls to verify accuracy and timeliness of payroll runs and related reporting. Obtain all related approvals. Retain appropriate documentation and local/digital copies of reports.
  • Stay current on payroll tax laws and promote compliance within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT and Finance to implement and build out a fully integrated payroll platform that supports all payroll processes. Bring thought leadership to a team seeking continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate information is efficiently reported to all stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor payroll staff
  • Manage the staff and craft timekeeping process.
  • Collaborate with HR on the administration of and amendments to Pension schemes.
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain and update changes for Life Assurance and Health Benefits (for monthly paid staff)
  • Calculate redundancy calculations as necessary.
  • Administer all payments of employee expenses for Ireland and related reporting.
  • Ensure accurate reporting in relation to all Revenue & HMRC commitments including monthly payments for payroll deductions, year-end processing, and distribution of P60's to UK employees.
  • Coordination with accounting counterparts on recording and reconciliation of payroll items, including preparation of workpapers to support various financial requirements. Collaboration with HR on various employee, payroll or benefit items.
  • Completion of necessary reporting for the UK and Ireland.
  • Produce and analyse information to support audit purposes.
  • Periodic project site visits to support payroll initiatives.
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required.
  • Documentation of process manuals for all payroll positions.
  • Maintain & implement Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems meeting the needs of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and any subsequent or related standards.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX reporting requirements.
  • Revenue Administration & Financial Reporting for USA Assignments.
  • Pension administration for CWPS.
