Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is assisting a West Dublin-based retailer to recruit a Payroll Administrator. The role covers processing payroll for ROI employees and providing payroll-related admin support in a busy, colleagues-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of payroll experience, familiarity with BrightPay, and strong numerical and communication skills. The role offers a modern Dublin office with parking and 20 days holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience processing payroll for ROI (UK an advantage).
  • Experience working with BrightPay is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of payroll deductions and ERR.
  • Good understanding of Auto-Enrolment.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Irish employment legislation and GDPR.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • English language proficiency both verbal and written.
  • Salary from €40,000-€45,000 based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fortnightly payroll for over 600 employees and liaise with all levels of management.
  • Maintain calculations spreadsheet and calculate holiday pay for hourly-paid employees.
  • Maintain calculations spreadsheet and calculate sick pay in line with the SSP.
  • Maintain and track annual leave.
  • Process and report expense reimbursements in line with the ERR.
  • Process, monitor, and report pension deductions accurately and in compliance with Auto-Enrolment requirements.
  • Process and maintain employee records and ensure data on new hires, terminations, and pay rates are up to date.
  • Comply with payroll timetables and policies.
  • Deal with payroll-related queries from employees in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payroll reports fortnightly, quarterly, and as requested by the Financial Controller and Managers.
  • Process and submit pension contributions (NEST).
  • Prepare and submit quarterly CSO reports.
  • Monthly HMRC reconciliation and Tax return payments.
  • Assist in onboarding process administration.
  • Assist in processing new starters, leavers, transfers, salary changes, promotions.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to maternity/paternity/parental leave.
  • Manage and reconcile the holiday planner.
  • Assist in absence management and produce absence-related letters.
  • Support large administrative exercises and mail merges.

My client, whose head office is based in West Dublin, has over 20 years of experience serving customers across the Irish market. With an extensive network of 51 stores across Ireland and Northern Ireland, they have established themselves as a leading name in the retail sector. As the business continues to grow and expand its presence, they are looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of a dynamic and organised Payroll Administrator.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a fast-growing and ambitious food retailer, playing an important role in supporting the day-to-day payroll function across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with employees and management, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and efficiently while also providing administrative support across a broad range of activities. This is a varied role that would suit someone who is detail-oriented, approachable and enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment

  • Complete administrative tasks associated with maternity, paternity, parent’s leave
  • Manage and reconcile the holiday planner
  • Assist in absence management and produce absence-related letters
  • Support with large administrative exercises and mail merge activity throughout the year
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience processing payroll for ROI (and UK an advantage)
  • Experience working with BrightPay (an advantage)
  • Good understanding of the calculation of payroll deductions and ERR
  • Good understanding of Auto-Enrolment process
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Irish employment legislation and GDPR
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • English language proficiency both verbal and written (essential)
