Job summary

The Johnstown Estate is seeking an experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Accounts team, supporting payroll across The Johnstown Estate and Trim Castle Hotel. This role offers flexible part-time hours in a busy hospitality environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage payroll activities across two properties, ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation and Revenue requirements while maintaining confidential records and audit trails.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience processing Irish payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation incl PAYE Modernisation.
  • IPASS Payroll Technician qualification or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Excel and payroll software.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and within deadlines.
  • Manage starters, leavers, and employee changes.
  • Handle overtime, premiums, allowances, bonuses, tips/service charge and other payroll adjustments.
  • Review time and attendance records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage PAYE, PRSI, USC, ROS, RPNs and ERR and other Revenue requirements.
  • Prepare payroll reports, journals and reconciliations.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries professionally and confidentially.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and audit trails.
  • Support Finance and HR with payroll-related administration and reporting.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Accounts team, supporting payroll across The Johnstown Estate and Trim Castle Hotel.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking for a flexible part-time role within a busy hospitality environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across both properties, ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation, Revenue requirements and company procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Managing starters, leavers, employee changes, holiday pay, sick pay and statutory leave
  • Processing overtime, premiums, allowances, bonuses, tips/service charge and other payroll adjustments
  • Reviewing time and attendance records and resolving discrepancies
  • Managing PAYE, PRSI, USC, RPNs, PSRs, ERR and other Revenue requirements
  • Preparing payroll reports, journals and reconciliations
  • Responding to employee payroll queries professionally and confidentially
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and audit trails
  • Supporting Finance and HR with payroll-related administration and reporting
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience processing Irish payroll
  • Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, PAYE Modernisation, PRSI, USC, ROS, RPNs and ERR
  • An IPASS Payroll Technician qualification or equivalent
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and payroll systems experience
  • Excellent numerical skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
  • A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential information
  • Good knowledge of Irish employment legislation relating to payroll and statutory leave
  • Experience with SAGE Payroll, ALKIMII or hospitality payroll would be a distinct advantage.
Working Hours

This is a flexible part-time position of 16-24 hours per week, worked over 2-3 days, with some additional flexibility required around payroll deadlines and year-end processing.

The role will support both The Johnstown Estate, Enfield, Co. Meath and Trim Castle Hotel, Trim, Co. Meath.
