Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator on a temporary basis to support payroll processing across Ireland, ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation and company policies.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years’ Irish payroll experience, Sage Payroll proficiency, and advanced Excel skills. The role is based in Burnfoot, County Donegal.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience processing Irish payroll.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data validation.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, Fortnightly and monthly payroll transactions accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations and changes.
  • Ensure accurate processing of pay items: basic pay, overtime, bonuses, allowances, pensions, BIK and statutory payments.
  • Review payroll input data and resolve discrepancies before submission.
  • Support payroll audits and provide required documentation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our payroll team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across Ireland while ensuring compliance with Irish payroll legislation and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' Irish payroll experience, strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. This individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with strict payroll deadlines.

This position will be based in Burnfoot, County Donegal.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll transactions accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, transfers, salary changes, and deductions.
  • Ensure accurate processing of:
    • Basic pay
    • Overtime
    • Bonuses
    • Allowances
    • Pension contributions
    • Benefit-in-Kind (BIK)
    • Statutory payments
  • Review payroll input data and resolve discrepancies before payroll submission.
Compliance & Administration
  • Ensure compliance with Irish payroll legislation, Revenue requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Administer payroll updates relating to PAYE, USC, PRSI, pensions, and statutory leave payments.
  • Support payroll audits and compliance reviews by providing required documentation and reports.
Sage Payroll Administration
  • Process payroll transactions using Sage Payroll.
  • Maintain payroll system data and support payroll testing activities.
  • Assist with payroll system updates and process improvements.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within Sage Payroll.
Reporting & Reconciliation
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and validate payroll results.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management, Finance, and HR.
  • Support month-end payroll activities and payroll accounting requirements.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze payroll data and produce reports.
Employee Support
  • Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding payslips, tax deductions, pensions, and statutory payments.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
  • Minimum 2 years' experience processing Irish payroll.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience using Sage Payroll.
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • PAYE Modernisation
    • PRSI
    • USC
    • Irish tax regulations
    • Statutory Sick Pay
    • Maternity, Paternity, and Parent's Leave payments
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    • Pivot Tables
    • Data Validation
    • IF Statements
    • Reconciliations and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Preferred
  • Experience working within medium to large organizations.
  • Knowledge of payroll in Ireland.


Experience Required: Minimum 2 years Irish Payroll and Sage Payroll experience.
Technical Requirements: Advanced Microsoft Excel and Sage Payroll proficiency.
