Job summary

Veolia Ireland in Mullingar is seeking a part-time Lab Technician (Wastewater Operations) to manage on-site laboratory activities, conduct sampling, and perform tests according to the lab manual. You will maintain quality equipment, assist with process monitoring and health and safety duties, and work with operators and engineers to support site operations.

The role requires a degree in science or equivalent, 1–3 years in wastewater operations, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or an equivalent qualification is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in wastewater operations is desirable.
• Solid understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Competent with MS Office and basic lab documentation.

Responsibilities

• Process sampling and arranging external analyses when required.
• Report results and ensure data accuracy for process control.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment (pH meters, turbidity meters, spectrophotometers).
• Supervise delegated operators, including weekend coverage when needed.
• Assist with health, safety and quality documentation and compliance.
