Job summary

Veolia Ireland is seeking a Plant Manager to lead wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations in Wicklow region, reporting to Uisce Éireann. You will oversee day-to-day operations, safety and compliance across multiple sites including Greystones, Knockrobin, The Murrough PS, Rathnew PS, Ashford PS and Rathdrum WWTP.

The role requires senior mechanical/electrical tradesperson or engineering background with operations and maintenance experience, strong people management and a track record of

Qualifications

• Senior mechanical/electrical tradesperson with people management experience or Engineering background with operations and maintenance experience.
• Operational experience on a water treatment site (Desirable).
• Management experience on a water/wastewater site (Desirable).
• Experience on a large operational water/wastewater treatment plant (Desirable).
• Ability to manage time and resources to meet timelines within budget.
• Strong communication and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day management of a on-site team of technicians.
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis of plant equipment faults.
• Carry out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure PMs completed on time and safety procedures followed.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and manage subcontractors.
• Compile monthly site reporting and attend client liaison meetings.
• Promote safety, quality, compliance and improvement with QHSE team.
• Maximise site performance via cost control and optimisation programmes.

Contract Type: Permanent

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm

The successful candidate will manage WasteWater treatment plants and pumping stations in the Wicklow region. Veolia Operates and Maintains these sites on behalf of Uisce Eireann, and require a strong site lead to oversee the day to day elements of the site management.

Day to day of the role

• Responsible for all aspects of the contract deliverable to the Client including but limited to: Coordinate the day to day management of a team of technicians on-site
• Trouble-shooting and high-level investigation of utility plant equipment faults and failures - root cause analysis
• Carry out planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance as required
• Ensure PMs are completed on time
• Lead continuous improvement projects
• Good knowledge and understanding of CMMS systems
• Develop PMs and Job Plans as well as SOPs for plant equipment.
• Review maintenance programme periodically to ensure optimal uptime levels are achieved
• Support and comply with all safety procedures
• Organise and manage subcontractors
• Compile monthly site reporting
• Attend liaison meetings with client
• Actively lead and promote a culture of Safety, Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement in conjunction with QHSE team
• Maximize the performance of the site through development and implementation of cost control and site optimisation programmes
• Implementation of contract variations from the employer

Required skills for this role

• Senior mechanical/electrical tradesperson with people management experience or Engineering background with operations and maintenance experience (maintenance manager etc.)
• Operational experience on a water treatment site (Desirable)
• Management experience on a water/wastewater site (Desirable)
• Previous experience on a large operational water/wastewater treatment plant (Desirable)
• Effectively manage time and resources to deliver on operational timelines within budget constraints (Essential)
• Good communication skills, and people management skills
• Desirable: Self-motivated individual with high achievement prospects
