Job summary

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
• QQI FETAC Level 5 Qualification in Health Care Assistant (all 8 modules) or equivalent nursing qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient activities and care as assigned by the Nurse Manager/Clinical Co-Coordinator.
• Communicates professionally with all staff and patients.
• Assists in safe manual handling and helps with elimination and hygiene needs.
• Ensures equipment availability for post-operative care as requested by Nurse or Coordinator.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Provides and maintains a clean, safe environment and follows infection control measures.
• Transfers patients from Recovery to appropriate wards as requested.
• Assists with theatre equipment preparation and stock replenishment.
