Job summary

UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic is seeking a Relief Healthcare Assistant to support the inpatient ward. You will assist nursing staff with patient care, manage patient belongings and assist with equipment and ward preparation.

The role requires a FETAC Level 5 and a compassionate, proactive approach. Based in Dublin, the position involves assisting in transport within wards, handling calls and coordinating with nursing staff under supervision.

Qualifications

• FETAC Level 5 is essential.
• Previous experience in caring is desirable.
• Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple tasks.
• Physically able to undertake the role.
• Good character.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering patient care under supervision.
• Attend to patient belongings and care for dentures, glasses, and hearing aids.
• Receive patients and visitors courteously and manage call bells and requests.
• Assist with cleaning, equipment assembly and disposal of clinical waste.
• Help prepare wards for discharge and support transport needs within the ward.
