Job summary

Think Differently in Ireland's South East is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day port activities, including vessel discharge and loading, container handling from vessel to quay, and associated safety procedures.

You will develop operational plans to hit productivity and customer service targets, ensure the right labour and equipment are in place, and drive continuous improvement across vessel turnaround and labour utilisation, even outside normal hours when schedules

Qualifications

• Experience in an operational leadership role within logistics, ports, shipping, transport, warehousing, or related operations.
• Strong understanding of container handling and logistics operations.
• Solid grasp of Health & Safety regulations in an operational setting.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem solving skills.

Operations Manager

South East Ireland

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead day to day operations at a busy port, covering vessel discharge and loading, container handling from vessel to quay, and lashing and unlashing operations, all within vessel stowage plans and safety procedures.

You'll develop operational plans to hit productivity and customer service targets, ensure the right labour, equipment, and resources are in place, and drive continuous improvement across vessel turnaround, container throughput, and labour utilisation.

What you'll bring

• Experience in an operational leadership role within logistics, ports, shipping, transport, warehousing, or related operations
• Strong understanding of container handling and logistics operations
• Solid grasp of Health & Safety regulations in an operational setting
• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem solving skills
• A full clean driving licence

Desirable

• Experience within port, maritime, stevedoring, terminal, or vessel operations
• Knowledge of container lashing and securing procedures
• Lean Six Sigma, IOSH/NEBOSH, or CPC qualifications

This is a hands on, fast paced role for someone who thrives under pressure, is calm and organised, and is happy to support operations outside normal hours when vessel schedules require it.
