Job summary

Purcell O’Leary Recruitment is seeking an Operations Manager (shipping) based at Rosslare. The role leads Rosslare Port operations, vessel discharge/loading, and container handling from vessel to quay and onward transportation.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in logistics/ports, strong leadership, and a focus on safety and efficiency. A hands-on leader with excellent planning and stakeholder management is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ management experience in logistics, ports, or related operations.
• Strong understanding of container handling and logistics operations.
• Experience managing large operational teams in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Rosslare Port operations.
• Lead vessel discharge and loading activities.
• Oversee container handling from vessel to quay and onward transportation.
• Coordinate lashing and unlashing operations, ensuring safety compliance.
• Develop operational plans to meet customer service and productivity targets.
• Ensure labour, equipment and resources are available to meet requirements.
• Act as primary operational contact for shipping lines and port stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
