Job summary

Convergint is seeking an Operations Director IRL (Maternity Cover) based in Dublin to lead end-to-end operations, ensuring safety, quality and profitability across projects exceeding €25 million in revenue. You will collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Service and Finance to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

The role is office-based with regular field visits and some overnight travel, requiring strong leadership, financial acumen and a proven track record in complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Significant senior leadership experience in operations, project delivery, or service management within a technical or customer-focused environment.
• Experience managing complex customer relationships, contract delivery, and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all operational activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations while achieving key operational and financial objectives.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Provide overall governance of project and contract execution, including resource planning, subcontractor management, commercial performance, and operational risk.
• Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing operational teams through effective communication, coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
• Drive business performance through effective management of operational KPIs, productivity, profitability, budgets, cash flow, and DSO.
• Ensure accurate operational and financial reporting, maintaining robust governance, compliance, and internal controls.
• Champion the consistent adoption of Convergint's project execution and service delivery processes, driving standardisation, compliance, best practices, and continuous improvement.
• Foster collaboration across regions and functions to share best practices, improve operational consistency, and support sustainable business growth.
• Represent the business within the European Operations Excellence leadership group, building strong relationships with peers to drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence across the region.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Position Summary:

The Operations Director provides strategic leadership for the delivery and operational performance of the business, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The role is accountable for the end-to-end operational lifecycle, from pre-bid qualification and planning through project execution and closeout, while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and effective risk management.

Working collaboratively across Sales, Engineering, Service, Finance, and other business functions, the Operations Director develops high-performing teams, implements scalable operational strategies, and champions the One Convergint Values & Beliefs to deliver exceptional customer outcomes and support sustainable business growth.

Project Revenue Managed: Greater than €25 Million

Job Responsibilities:

• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with responsibility for budgets, profitability, and operational performance.
• Demonstrated success in developing operational strategy, leading change, and delivering continuous improvement.
• Experience managing complex customer relationships, contract delivery, and business growth.
• Experience within the electronic security, fire and life safety, building automation, healthcare, or related industries is preferred.

The position is an office-based position with regular visits to work sites in the field. The colleague performs some overnight work-related travel.
