Job summary

XOCEAN, an ocean data company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee global execution of short-term projects. You will lead projects from handover to close-out, liaising with stakeholders and managing budgets, resources, and schedules.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in PM/Operations, strong English, and experience in construction/renewables or marine sectors. Office-based role in Ireland with visa eligibility.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing projects with strong client relationships.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
• Fluent business English.
• Minimum 3 years in a Project Management or Operations Management position.
• Experience in construction, renewables, or oil & gas; marine sector preferred.
• Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or CMI are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute USV projects within approved budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of project planning and execution.
• Develop project plans and budgets; manage resources and scheduling.
• Oversee daily project activities and maintain records.
• Report on project performance against financial and non-financial objectives.
• Ensure adherence to XOCEAN’s health and safety standards.

Overview

Responsible for the successful global execution of assigned short-term projects. The operational project manager role involves oversight of assigned projects from commercial handover through to final project close out. XOCEAN project managers are the central focus point for the control of all aspects of the project lifecycle. Please note that this is not an IT project management role and will not suit candidates with pure IT project management backgrounds.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Operations Managers in the planning and execution of all USV work, providing project assistance in, but not limited to, the following activities:
• Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders on all aspects of project planning and execution.
• Developing project plans and budgets.
• Resource planning.
• Overseeing the daily activities of the project.
• Maintaining project records and paperwork.
• Sourcing external contractors as required by the project.
• Ensuring adherence to XOCEAN's health and safety standards / objectives.
• Project Logistics and Coordination.
• Meeting project budgets, assessing the financial and operational risks for potential projects and providing feedback to the sales team / risk escalation.
• Providing daily operational updates.
• Reporting on project performance against both financial and non-financial project objectives.
• Project Cost Management.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Managing relationships with key vendors.
• Supporting non-operational functions with planning as required, ensuring alignment with operational priorities.

Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Proven record of managing projects with strong client relationship and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.
• Fluent business English.
• Minimum 3 years in a Project Management or Operations Management position where execution at pace was required.
• Results orientated, proactive and reactive.
• Numerical aptitude with ability to understand commercial impact of decisions.
• Enthusiastic, positive, and proactive nature with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentational, problem solving and team working skills.
• Previous experience in the construction, renewables, or oil & gas sector.
• Previous experience working within the Marine sector would be an advantage.
• Additional project management qualificationssuch as (eg PRINCE2, PMP, CMI).
