Job summary

Engage People Recruitment is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to join a fast-paced technology team. This hands-on role involves supporting business-critical applications, performing log analysis, and collaborating with Development and Operations to resolve incidents.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, proficiency with Splunk/Checkmk, SQL, Windows environments, and experience in financial services.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in application/production/support.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with log analysis and root-cause investigation.
• Ability to understand complex app and systems logic.
• Experience with production-critical applications.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Good understanding of Windows environments and networked apps.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in financial services.
• Experience with batch scheduling systems.
• Experience with Splunk and Checkmk.
• Automation/scripting experience.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for business-critical applications and systems.
• Investigate and resolve complex application and system issues.
• Perform detailed log file analysis and trace issues through application and system workflows.
• Understand application and systems logic to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Work closely with Development, Operations and other technology teams to resolve incidents.
• Monitor application and system performance using tools such as Splunk and Checkmk.
• Support batch scheduling and automated processing environments.
• Assist with the deployment and implementation of new applications and systems.
• Manage technical projects relating to new and existing support systems, monitoring platforms and tooling.
• Use SQL to investigate data and support application troubleshooting.
• Contribute to DevOps, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, monitoring, supportability and operational efficiency.
• Work effectively in a high-pressure environment where systems are business critical.
