Job summary

Planet is investing in observability across a global payments platform. You will own the observability lifecycle from architecture to automation, define standards, build scalable solutions, and improve SLO governance. This is a hands-on role shaping monitoring across multi-vendor environments.

We value automation, scripting in Python/PowerShell, and experience with Jira/Jira Service Management and Coralogix (or equivalents). A hybrid work model and Ireland/Poland base are supported.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in observability / monitoring or tooling engineering.
• Experience with Jira / Jira Service Management as primary platform.
• Hands-on with modern log analytics / observability tools (Coralogix preferred).
• Strong scripting and automation in Python or PowerShell.
• Excellent English; based in Ireland or Poland.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune and operate monitoring and observability across multi-vendor estate.
• Own the alert lifecycle: onboarding, tuning and noise reduction.
• Build dashboards and SLO reporting; manage as code and version control.
• Integrate tooling across estate (observability, ITSM, CMDB) to join data.
• Automate repetitive tasks; script, integrate and enable runbooks.
• Apply AI/AIOps to improve alerting and anomaly detection.
• Instrument services to golden-signal metrics (latency, traffic, errors).
• Help modernise toolset to reduce overlap and control costs.
