Job summary

Depaul Ireland is recruiting an experienced Support Worker for our Dublin operation to provide night-time care and welfare support to residents, ensuring safety and dignity. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, respond to service user needs, and follow infection control and risk assessment practices.

The role requires a third-level qualification or QQI Level 5 in social care, and experience in lone working or activity planning is valued.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification or QQI Level 5 in social care or related area.
• Experience of service user activity planning desirable.
• Experience of lone working or off-site working an advantage.
• Knowledge of risk assessment processes and systems (e.g. SU Risk assessment, Lone Working, Activity Risk Assessments).

Responsibilities

• Be a member of a multi-disciplined team using holistic approaches with residents, upholding dignity and care.
• Offer personal care and support for hygiene in line with standards.
• Prompt residents to take medications as required.
• Assist high-support needs residents with morning routines and incontinence management.
• Monitor for pressure areas and apply preventive measures.
• Adapt levels of assistance to residents' needs to promote independence.
• Maintain hygiene standards and infection control measures.
• Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for residents.
• Provide laundry support for residents, especially with incontinence.
• Support residents to stay active in maintaining cleanliness of bedrooms.
• Assist with nutrition and feeding when required.
• Promote balanced diets and safe food storage.
• Provide hydration/nutrition support as directed by nursing staff.
• Liaise with Shift Coordinator and participate in handovers.
• Report incidents per management procedures.
• Support staff to maintain order and organisation in the house.
