Main duties:To give a warm and friendly welcome to all guests and customers entering the hotel. To ensure the front door is answered promptly when guests are returning to the hotel. To check in and check out guests in an efficient and helpful manner, ensuring that they enjoyed their stay. To be responsible for guest security – room keys and luggage. To answer the telephone, transfer calls and take messages efficiently. To be responsible for the reception float, ensuring it is correct at the end of the night shift. To assist and work in other departments when necessary. To report any complaints or incidents of accident/fire/loss or damage. To carry out any reasonable requests made by management. To consistently exercise diligence in ensuring that the hotel is secure. To ensure that no unauthorised persons enter the premises during the night shift. To be familiar with and adhere to procedures in the event of fire. To operate machinery and equipment, caring for it as necessary and ensuring adherence to Health and Safety procedures. To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the premises. To ensure that all external doors are locked at the appropriate time. To ensure that all fire escapes are kept clear and not obstructed by rubbish or any other matter. To perform security walks at least once per evening, checking all stairways in hotel and apartments, ensuring all fire escapes are clear of obstruction and lobby bathroom clean and presentable. To ensure that all cleaning duties are carried out on a nightly basis as per Standards of Procedure. To ensure that all public areas within the hotel and directly outside are clean and tidy at all times. To attend to any basic maintenance around the hotel, eg: changing lightbulbs etc. and to bring any maintenance requirements to the attention of the reception team during handover.
