Job summary

The Castle Hotel, operated by FINDLATER HOTELS LIMITED T/A The Castle Hotel in Dublin 1, is seeking a managerial professional to lead hotel operations on a full-time basis. The role requires strong leadership and hands-on oversight across front and back of house to ensure consistent guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include demand analysis, resource management, ensuring guest comfort, financial oversight, risk and safety compliance, and night porter coordination.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in hospitality
• Minimum Level 5 qualification (Leaving Certificate / Leaving Certificate Applied / Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme)
• English proficiency: C1-Advanced
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Demand Analysis: evaluate market demand to determine services and costs
• Resource Management: plan financial, staffing, material needs
• Customer Comfort: ensure guests’ physical comfort
• Financial Oversight: manage bills, accounts, licensing compliance
• Any other duties as required by management
• Safety: ensure guest and staff safety and compliance with procedures
• Welcome/check-in: manage late arrivals and check-outs
• Fire and emergency systems: oversee alarms and responses
• Overnight staff: train on procedures and departmental routines
• Night shift: complete checklists and handle overnight queries
• Oversee late bar requests per licensing rules
• Perform fire safety checks and overnight security checks

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Demand Analysis: Evaluating market demand to determine the types, standards, and costs of services to be offered.
• Resource Management: Assessing and planning for financial, staffing, material, and other short- and long-term requirements.
• Customer Comfort: Ensuring the physical comfort of residents
• Financial Oversight: Arranging for the timely payment of bills, maintaining accounts, and ensuring adherence to licensing and other statutory regulations.
• Any other jobs required by management.

Other Duties

• Ensuring that safety of guests & team members at all times, following fire & health and safety procedures.
• Welcome & check-in any customers arriving late and check-out customers.
• To be responsible for the fire and emergency alarm systems.
• To ensure all night staff are trained in emergency procedures, and their individual departmental procedures.
• Ensure that all checklists are completed by night porter assistant, before the end of the shift.
• Ensuring that any queries received overnight are dealt with in accordance with company policy.
• To manage any late bar requests in accordance with licensing legislation.
• Perform fire safety checks and overnight security checks.
